Dress Code

Our priority is practicality, with the understanding that modesty begins in the heart. Because camp is full of movement and activity, clothing that is perfectly appropriate in one setting may not be in another. We ask that campers choose clothing that provides appropriate coverage and helps create a comfortable, distraction-free environment for everyone.

E v e r y o n e

1. No clothing should be worn that promotes ideals that could be offensive or that are not consistent with the values of Shiloh (including profanity, alcohol, tobacco, nudity, drugs, rude slang, etc.).

2. No sheer clothing that reveals undergarments. No clothes that are excessively tight or so loose that undergarments or private areas are visible.

3. Shorts and dark t-shirts must be worn during water games that aren’t in the pool.

4. PJ’s are only to be worn for sleeping not during meals or activities.

1. Shorts should fit properly with a minimum 4” inseam (even when rolled). “Properly” means that appropriate areas remain covered during normal camp activities such as sitting, bending, and active play. Our goal is for you to be able to participate comfortably and confidently in everything we do.

2. T-shirts are the best kind of camp shirt. Tops should not expose cleavage, or midriff and should have straps at least 2” wide. Strapless tops (Tube Tops) and halter tops are not acceptable.

3. Modest, one-piece swimsuit with straps. Swimsuits with low-cut tops, high-cut sides, or cutouts are not acceptable. Swim shorts are recommended but not required (you will be glad you have some – especially during games). Tankinis are acceptable, but the top and bottom must stay together and not show midriff.

1.Shorts should fit properly with a minimum 5” inseam. “Properly” means that appropriate areas remain covered during normal camp activities such as sitting, bending, and active play. Our goal is for you to be able to participate comfortably and confidently in everything we do.

2.T-shirts are the best kind of camp shirt. Shirts should not expose midriff or rib cage and should have straps at least 2” wide. Shirts with the sides cut low are not acceptable.

3.Boxer-style swimsuit; must fit appropriately. Dark colors preferred due to potential sheerness. No brief style swim suits.

4. Hats may be worn everywhere except for the Dining Hall and the Chapel.

Our goal is to create an environment that is respectful and honoring to everyone. If these guidelines are not followed, campers may be asked to change. All decisions are made at the discretion of the Shiloh Staff Team with the support of the cabin leaders, directors and other co-laborers.
